City of Baytown Tourism

of

Description:
The Official Baytown GeoTour turned one in March and the Baytown Tourism Division hosted a three day SPACE-tacular Birthday Adventure at prominent visitor experience locations around town. An event so galactic needed an event website just as “out of this world”. The graphic team created a comprehensive and mobile optimized event website that tourists and locals could visit and easily find the event info, a calendar of events, location directions, and links to geocaching info pages all centered on the Geocaching HQ space theme. Using a bit of JAVA script magic, the team was able to animate an astronaut floating in space around the event information to the delight of visitors and all content was space pun filled for each day’s “Birthday Mission”. The website was both entertaining and highly informational.

Objective:

  1. Provide geocachers with easy access to the GeoTour birthday event information housed in 1 location online.
  2. Highlight a few of the GeoTour locations that Baytown tourists may be interested in visiting
  3. Providing a mobile optimized site that tourists could easily access during their travels
  4. Entice new geocachers to come to Baytown and try the GeoTour

San Angelo Convention & Visitors Bureau

Description:
DiscoverSanAngelo.com introduces the visitor to what there is to see and do in San Angelo through vibrant photos and a clean and bright website. We utilized bright earth tones of green and blue to make a statement that we were not a desert city but more of an oasis in West Texas. We pay tribute to our western heritage with a brown leather strip at the top and bottom of our site, along with a pair of boots to give a nod to the cowboys and ranches in our region. We added our social media channels, which were not prominent on our old website. We have the ability to do countdowns to special events and change home page photos and events on a daily basis, keeping our site fresh. We also included our Discover San Angelo! video at the bottom of the home page to show movement on the page. Our events page allows the viewer to see the events four different ways to best suit their needs - list, expanded, gallery and calendar.

Objective:
Our objective for our DiscoverSanAngelo.com website was to re-introduce/introduce visitors to San Angelo. Our old site was extremely heavy in copy and only had photos on the home page, making it much less likely for visitors to want to explore further.
