Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau

Description:
The 2019 Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau promotional video proudly showcases many of the wonderful things Texas’ oldest town truly has a “Nac” for. Produced by local videography company GHM Media, the video highlights the five overarching areas of focus of our current marketing campaign: history, gardening (Garden Capital of Texas), antique and boutique shopping, meetings and conventions and arts and culture. (While we do work with a local advertising agency that produces a lot of our advertising art, we contracted this production in-house and worked with the producer directly.)

Objective:
While our organization was in need of a current and updated promotional video, we also needed a piece that told a broader story and covered our current marketing initiatives. The "Nac for That" advertising campaign is very versatile and allows us to tell a variety of stories in a clever and unique way. We needed a video that accomplished that as well.

In-house Project

Project Costs: $4,000

Visit McKinney

1 of 3
Description:
Downtown McKinney was named as a 2018 Great Places in Texas by the Texas Chapter of the American Planners Association (APA) for its revitalization of the downtown square. We were able to contract with Chet Garner (PBS's The Daytripper) and the APA to have a promotional video made that would be used by the APA as well as by all the partnering entities in McKinney. Chet spent one night here with his camera guy then spent the day exploring the downtown.

Objective:
Being honored by the APA for our historic downtown gave us the perfect opportunity to get The Daytripper to McKinney. We knew with his following, we could get some good organic traffic/coverage, and we continue to be thrilled! In the past seven months, our post on our Facebook page has reached more than 80 shares and 4,000 views. And on The Daytripper's Facebook page, it's had 1,228 shares and 111,000 views. This doesn't include all the other places it has been shared, including all the featured businesses, McKinney Main Street and many other entities. His day here in McKinney also resulted in some fun Instagram posts.

Agency Project

Project Costs: $9,000 for production & $363 for incidentals during the crew's stay in town
(Costs were split between Visit McKinney, McKinney City Communications, McKinney Main Street and McKinney Community Development Corporation)

Visit Tyler

1 of 4
Description:
As we were brainstorming what makes Tyler unique, the one thing that keeps coming up is the way Tyler makes people feel. We wanted a set of videos that evoked the same kind of emotions that a visitor can and will experience when they visit Tyler: joy, happiness, excitement, awe, etc. We wanted subtle hints of things that are uniquely Tyler, but not a video that’s an “in-your-face” tourism video. Out of this concept, three videos were created that highlight three different tourism segments: roses, arts and entertainment, and food.

Objective:
Create a tourism video that elicits an emotional response from the audience. To create a subtle, but memorable video that promotes Tyler. To increase Tyler’s brand awareness.

Agency Project

Project Costs: $5,000
