#BeauPlay Sports Challenge photo contest invites teams to embark on a photo scavenger hunt and trivia challenge during their tournament. Teams visit as many locations as they'd like to earn points, redeemable for prizes and have fun along the way. The campaign highlights the impact of sports tourism and encourages exploration of the destination.
The program was developed because the Beaumont CVB wanted to add value to visiting teams’ sports tournament experience. The #BeauPlay Sports Challenge is a photo and trivia scavenger hunt featuring various challenges designed to encourage teams to explore Beaumont, have plenty of fun and win cool prizes. Teams visit as many challenge locations and take photos with their teammates to earn points and prizes. The trivia component allows teams to rack up on extra points/prizes for their mates while learning about more activities they can do along with cool Beaumont facts.Media content submitted from the contest will be used in future CVB communications efforts as testimonials to showcase the team experience and highlight after game activities. BCVB staff promoted the contest to tournament directors and were on location with a manned booth for large, select tournaments. This interaction connected cvb staff with players and parents. The sports booth peaked interest and enhanced the experience with a ‘spin to win’ prize wheel, promotional flyers, visitor info and lots of cool swag. In addition, the CVB used the opportunity to capture video & photo content for additional future marketing efforts.
