Description:
Pearland hosted the 2018 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Winter Games of Texas January 12-14. The 3-day sports festival included 15 different competitions ranging from archery to wheelchair rugby in various venues around the City. The games move to a new Gulf Coast host city after a 12-year run in Frisco, Texas required an awareness campaign for internal and external audiences.

Objective:
The Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau in partnership with the Pearland Parks and Recreation Department worked to:

  • inform previous participants and local organizing committees about new location and sports offerings
  • motivate local businesses and residents to support, sponsor and/or volunteer at the Games
  • establish credibility with TAAF event organizers to garner future business
  • create and highlight new sporting events spotlighting Pearland Parks & Recreation’s support of adaptive sports.

SPORTyler-Visit Tyler

Description:
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award was created to promote and position Tyler, Texas as a premiere sports destination. A place that not only is a great place to host your next sporting event, but also a place that turns out great athletes and is a great place for athletes to train. This year, the award created a new website to incorporate into the existing marketing campaign for The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award that matches the look and feel of the branding already in place for the award and SPORTyler. This user friendly website will allow people from around the world to stay up-to-date on everything happening with the award and will continue to drive more traffic to the website. At the same time it will garner more recognition for the award itself and SPORTyler while promoting Tyler as a sports destination.

Objective:
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award website is another component of the national campaign by SPORTyler to continue to make people aware of the award while keeping SPORTyler and Tyler at the forefront of people’s minds as a sports destination. We used the branding already in place with the award and SPORTyler to create a website and marketing campaign that continues to utilize the award graphic, SPORTyler, and Tyler, Texas in all aspects of marketing and promotion. Earl Campbell wants Tyler, Texas on everything he does to position Tyler as a sports destination. Everything that is done with the award during the football season such as the initial Watch List announcement, weekly players of the week press releases, semifinalists and finalists announcements all have the award logo, SPORTyler, and Tyler, Texas prominently displayed.
